The motto of the college is “Peace, Goodwill, Tolerance and Service”. This College is the first self financed college accredited by NAAC in Dindigul District.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Physics was started in 2004 with B.Sc course. The Department aims at the overall development of the students by involving them in programmes like seminars, cultural events, guest lectures by experts etc under the banner of “CURIEICS

State Level inter collegiate meet and Workshops are the milestones of our Department, which is conducted previously.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

2009 is the International year of Astronomy. 400 years have elasped since Galileo has viewed the first image in the sky. To commorate this event, this conference is organized to bring together Scientists, Students & research scholars in order to have a better understanding of our sun, the nearest star. The night sky harbours countless marvels to make any human wonder, about its existence. However, during half of the time our sky is dominated by the Sun. Solar Physics is the study of our Sun. It is a branch of Astrophysics that specializes in exploiting and explaining the detailed measurements that are possible only for our closest star. It intersects with many disciplines of pure Physics, Astrophysics, and Computer sciences. A major thrust of current (2009) effort in the field of Solar Physics is integrated understanding of the entire solar system including the sun and its effects throughout interplanetary space within the heliosphere and on planets and planetary atmosphere. In this context the theme of this conference is very significant. A special feature of this conference is lectures from Scientists and Professors from Radio astronomy centre, Ooty, Indian Institute of Astrophysics Kodaikanal & Madurai Kamaraj University on current topics.
