This is a vehicle race on a given designed track. The main crux of the event is based on this. The participants are required to build a vehicle that can travel on flat as well as given terrain (rocky, muddy, slush). The fastest finishing time shall be considered for the standings. In case of a non finish the standings shall be decided by a points system. Points shall be awarded at the end of every checkpoint and shall be decide upon the difficulty of the terrain as well as the amount of distance covered in the corresponding section.

    Design Specifications

    · Battery power 15V max. (on board)

    · Dimensions: no restraints (according to track)

    · Chasis should be self made

    · Remote controlled mechanism (Wired or Wireless) can be used.

    · Any material can be used for design e.g. Balsa wood, Sheet metal etc.

    · Remote control systems from toys might be used. Remote control systems available in the market may also be used.

    · The track is 50ft in length and 2ft in wide.

    Rules

    · Every team is allowed a maximum of 3 participants.

    · In case of any failure every team is allowed a maximum of two pit stops.

    · Each pit stop shall be of only 30 seconds and no extra time shall be given to participants under any circumstances.

    · No manhandling of the vehicle shall be entertained after the two trials.

    Judging Criteria

    · The best finishing time shall be considered for the standings.

    · In case of a non finish a points system shall be used to determine the standings as specified in the track diagram.

    · In case of a tie, a tie breaker shall be initiated between the respective teams.

    · The judges’ decision shall be final and binding.
    TWISTER

    Event Format

Contestants are required to make a stable structure which should be efficient enough to increase velocity to wind entering the cavity of the structure so that current can be produced using the principle of the wind mill. The generated current can be used to glow few LEDs and the group (of three strictly) producing maximum current (measured using digital ammeter) and glowing maximum numbers of LEDs is the winner!

    Provisions given

Each team will be given few wires (for external connections), LEDs and circuit board. A table fan will be your source of wind.

    Dimension of the structure

    Length: – 100 cms(max.)

Breadth: – 60 cms(max.)With blades between the edges

    Height: – 80 cms (max.)

Distance of Fan from the blades of the structure is 1m

    Rules

    · A Team may contain maximum of 3 members.

    · Usage of motors or power producing instruments is illegal and lead to disqualification.

    · Given dimension should be used to the fullest and any discrepancies will also be disqualified.

    · NO alteration can be done during judging.

    · All instruments are to be taken care of and management will not be responsible for hampering of structure and instruments provided by management is to be returned safely back without any breakage.

    · Structure stability will strictly be taken into consideration and short scale dynamos can also use for the structure.

    · Innovative structures are welcome and points for the best innovator are also given.

    Judging criteria

    · Maximum current producing group.

    · Maximum LEDs glowing.

    LINE FOLLOWER ROBOT

    Specifications

    Robot Specifications:

    · The maximum dimensions of robot cannot exceed 20*20*20 cm (lxbxh).

    · The robot cannot expand beyond these dimensions at any time during the event.

    · There is no weight restriction.

    · The robot must be completely autonomous and self contained; external computers are not allowed.

    · Robots may not leave any trail or markings; they also may not split into separate robots.

    · The robot is considered to have left the maze if no part of its body is over the line it was traveling along.

    Power Specifications:

    · The robot must be self contained.

    · No external power supply is allowed. (The battery must be mounted on the robot).

    · The maximum DC voltage allowed is 12V.

    Team Specifications:

    · Maximum number of members per team is 4.

    · The team members should produce identity card to claim that they are studying in the institute.

    · However the team can consist of members from the same institute or different institutions.

    · The judge’s discretion of the event managers will be final and beyond arguments.

    Arena Specifications:

    · Arena consists of white lines on a black background.

    · Starting point of the arena is denoted by “T” shape.

    · Ending point of the arena is a rectangle colored with white.

    · There will be many intersections of lines and all intersections will be at right angles.

    · Dead ends are not marked, the line simply terminates.

    · Width of the white line is 3cm.

    Rules

    · Prior to the maze being unveiled, all competing robots must be placed in a designated location in the competition area.

    · After the maze is revealed, no modifications of any type may be made to the robots, including changes in software or strategy (this includes changing settings via switches).

    · The order of running will be randomly assigned.

    · When it is his or her turn, a contestant may perform a quick calibration (e.g. metering black and white) before starting the run.

    · To begin a run, the contestant places the robot with some portion of the robot over the starting tee, and then starts the robot.

    · Each robot is given five minutes to find its way to the termination point of the maze.

    · Timer starts when the robot starts moving and stops when any part of the robot touches the finish point.

    · The robot will be given three attempts to solve the maze.

    · In each attempt the bot should start from the starting point.

    · No touches are allowed during the motion of the bot, in case of touch , it has to restart from the starting zone.(it will be counted as an attempt) .

    · Robots are permitted (and encouraged) to remember the maze geometry that they have explored and use that information on subsequent runs.

    · No modifications of any type may be made to the robot between attempts.

    Judging Criteria

    · Each attempt will receive a score equal to the time to complete the course.

    · The lowest time score will be recorded as the final score for the robot.
