About the Institution
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed University) is a part of the 35 year old SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology now encompasses all disciplines of Technical Education. Considering the excellent infrastructural facilities and the high standard of education offered consistently, this institute was declared as Deemed to be University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India and University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi.
The institute offers courses in eighteen branches of Engineering at the undergraduate level and twenty specialization streams at the post graduate level in addition to MBA & MCA programmes. The Institute campus comprises of twenty blocks of buildings which include laboratories, workshops, library, classrooms, staff quarters etc.
The institution has excellent infrastructure facilities including multistoried buildings, modern laboratory facilities, Internet facilities, library with CD-ROM, Video sections and other general amenities. The Library is also linked to the Madras Library Network (MALIBNET). The Institute has also extended the students with IEEE Digital Library facilities. Many of the UG and PG programmes were accredited by NBA.

About the Department

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering offers B.Tech programmes, in Biomedical Instrumentation and Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The department aims to equip all the students with strong foundation and technological skills in their relative areas. The department has full-fledged laboratories occupying a total area of 650 sq.m. and features equipments worth of Rs.1 crore to meet the practical requirements of students. The department has well experienced, highly qualified and motivated staff members. The department has also frequently engaged itself in conducting several National level seminars and workshops for the benefit of students and faculty members.
