AVIANCA is a National level technical symposium conducted by the DEPARTMENT OF AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING -Sathyabama University.

The objective of the symposium is to create awareness about aeronautics in the present generation and also serves as a stage to exhibit the students’ talents in Aeronautics.

Aero Blaster

Aero Blaster is a Technical Quiz. A group of 3 students can participate. The questions will be purely based on the various aspects of Aeronautical.

Mind Blaster

Mind Blaster is a Non-Technical Quiz. A group of 3 students can participate. The questions may cover general knowledge, maths, science, etc..

Words Worth

Words Worth is a competition in which the contestant will be given a topic and 2 or 3 minutes to prepare for it and speak for the given time. This may include both technical and non-technical topics.

Fly High

Fly high is an Aero modeling competition. Your will be provide with a template, balsa wood and other cutting and gluing items. The contestants have to make a glider from the template. A Group of 3 can participate. The participants will be charged for this competition

Kids Play

Kids Play is Simulator Gaming. The contestant will be given a simulator game. The contestant has to fly according to the rules laid.

My Creation

My creation is CAD Modeling. The contestant will have to design the model given. The contestant can use Pro-E or CATIA for modeling.

Power of Air

Power of Air is Water Rocketry. The contestants have to bring in their own bottle rockets. The launch pad and pump will be provided.

Battle of  Words

Battle of words is Debate Competition. The contestants will be divided into two groups and will be give a topic to debate with.

R U da Vinci

R u da Vinci is Engineering Drawing Contest. The contestant has to sketch the model an aircraft or a spacecraft etc. The contestants have to bring their own drawing equipments while drawing sheet will be provided.

Mr.Manager

Mr. Manager is Ad-Zap. The contestants have many aspects of business as the rounds of the contest.

BOTIX

BOTIX is the ROBOTIC event. The objective of the robot is to assess the feasibility of aircraft landing in any given terrain .

The robot should preferably have the following features. Ability to detect levelness of the terrain. (mandatory) Detection of obstacles within an area of 100 sq ft. Clearance of obstacles if any in the detected area. (higher points for larger load clearance) Extra points for every additional features. The use of lego kits is not permitted.

Registration Fees:

Rs  100/- for UG and PG students
Rs 200/- for others
