Venue-Bio-Tech Seminar Hall

Dates- Preliminary round -11th September (2pm to 6 pm),Registrations done online as well as on the spot.

Main Event -12th September(9am to 1pm)

INTRODUCTION-

To be a public figure is not easy. One is followed day in and day out by the paparazzi. This event is all about giving the participants a taste of this attention….think u can handle it??….come and prove yourself in Spotlight!!

PRELIMINARY ROUND-

In the preliminary round, the participants will be judged on the basis of a 2minute extempore (where in, the participant will be expected to speak on a random topic assigned to them such as corruption, global warming, etc) and an introduction. The best ones will then move on to the main round which will be held the next day.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Each participant will be randomly assigned a famous personality (which will be assigned on the day of the preliminary round) and they have to respond accordingly. The student will be made to appear in-front of a student press team who will ask questions and seek explanations as relevant to the personality assigned to him/her. The participant has to respond keeping in mind the personality he/she is and handle the press conference accordingly. He/she will be given time after the preliminary round for the preparation of the main event.

RULES AND REGULATIONS-

1. Mimicry of any sort is NOT allowed.

2. The participants will have to go through a preliminary round where in he/she will take part in an extempore along with an introduction of himself/herself.

3. Each participant will be given about 5-6 minutes to tackle with the student-press.

4. Participants should maintain decorum during the event.

5. Usage of explicit language and physical violence will NOT be tolerated.

6. Participants are requested not to counter-question the judge’s decision.

JUDGING CRITERIA-

  • In the preliminary round, the participants will be judged based on their confidence and the quality of their introduction.
  • During the press conference, the participants will be judged on-
    • confidence and body language when faced by the journalists and cameras.
    • how they perceive the personality and portray him/her.
    • artfully answering or dodging questions asked by the student panel.
