Conscientia 2010 is the second edition of the Annual Science and Technology Festival of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, an autonomous institution under the department of space, government of India. It is going to be held from 4th March,2010 to &7th March,2010

Latin for ‘knowledge’, Conscientia is a tribute to man’s inquisitive nature and his constant urge to seek answers to the questions that flood his mind. It is a salute to the success this spirit has achieved, and a reminder of that which is yet to be uncovered.

Conscientia, this year, will see a convergence of talent in both science and technology, the coming together of experience and novitiate. It will be a trigger for innovation, a journey into the unknown, a discovery of that which is lurking in the dark waiting to be uncovered….

A host of interesting an exciting events awaits you at Conscientia. From the realms of robotics to the unexplored territories of pure sciences, workshops on aeromodelling and the yet unconquered field of quantum computing, lecture on extra terrestial life by Jill Tarter, Director of Centre of SETI Research , night sky watching sessions and other astronomy events; we provide you all and many more!

Events include:

Aparimit | A section devoted to the challenging and unique field of space science and astronomy, Aparimit will leave you with a sense of awe and understanding of just how minuscule we are in the larger scheme of things!

Mechamorphosis | Mechamorphosis is a celebration of the spirit of mechanical engineering, the consequently acquired knowledge, and the feats achieved from the application of that knowledge.

Vihang | From Leonardo da Vinci to the Wright brothers to the Space Age, aerospace engineering has reached a new pinnacle with every triumph. Vihang is an odyssey into this magnificent world of aerospace!

Philosophiae Naturalis | The genesis of all technology is from a kernel which we call basic science, the enigma of which would not have been decoded without mathematics. Philosophiae Naturalis is a section dedicated to these two foundations of all innovation.

Bot in the Act | With machines becoming more ‘human like’, robots have transcended the boundary of mechanisms and components to become an art about man himself. Bot in the Act is an arena which will test your robotic skill, creativity and nerves alike.

E/C-Lectic | The fast changing world of today is an objective outcome of the greatest inventions of the 20th century, electronics and computers. E/C-Lectic instigates all electronics and programming enthusiasts to match their prowess.

Ideas Inc. | A set of competitions that will give participants a brush with entrepreneurship and social responsibility, with a focus on business management, environmental awareness and sustainable economic and industrial development.

N-Dimensions | Life cannot be confined to a fixed number of dimensions. Our every new activity is a unique dimension in itself. N-Dimensions offers events that involve many disciplines.

Cyberia | A host of online events, including a labyrinthine puzzle taking you through a maze of questions and answers, and an online quiz, designed to challenge those with both grit and wit.

Workshops and Exhibitions:

Rendezvous With Stars
Expert astronomers from Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, will conduct a workshop on amateur astronomy along with an exciting Night-Sky Observation Session.

Quantum Computing
The interesting, new and upcoming field of Quantum Computing has posed challenges for young minds to solve. Three eminent researchers, deep in their exploration, will give you a peak into this field.

Balsa Glider Workshop
