DCE was started in the year 2001 out of the spirit of an august academician and former professor of Anna University,Dr.V.P.Ramamurthi. The zealous desire of his is to look after the student community into this inspiring institution.

DCE has soared up to Fifth position in the Latest Anna University ranking for colleges in Tamil Nadu by providing the future Engineers with Engineering education and by making them Technically strong productive persons.

DCE is offering four UG courses in engineering and technology and two PG courses. All the UG courses have been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and accredited to NBA apart from being affiliated to the Anna University.

DCE is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.

Dr.V.P.Ramamurthi graduated from the College of Engineering, Guindy in the year 1965 with EEE as his branch of specialization.He immediately took up teaching assignment in the same college.His quest for higher education prompted him to obtain PG from the same institutuion and Doctrate in Power Electronics from IIT Chennai.

He has to his credit more than 20 technical papers, published in journal of national and international repute,Besides these academic distinctions, he is one of the very few who has accomplished technology transfer from academic arena to industries such as HTL,ELCOTT,Power Control.

Enriched by his experience and strong desire for innovative teaching methods, he sought voluntary retirement from service after a career of 28 years, to prepare students for competitive and career oriented examination.
