ABOUT GCT
At a time when great cities lay in ruins and national economy devastated, Pandit Nehru recognized that something has to be done and called on India to do whatever it could be be done to get the economy back in track. He realized the need for bright minds to propel India in to the world’s stage. So he decided to kindle the younger generation with institutions of higher class and creed. Thus a handful of universities were created in 1945. We are proud to say that GCT is one of them. This institution has been sculpting students for more than 6 decades and will continue to do so to feed the ever growing country with wit and wisdom. Coincidence or not, it remains a mystery how Coimbatore went on to become the Manchester of south India. Is it because of institutions as such or vice versa? None can answer this but rest assured is the mutual benefit for both.
TECHNOTRYST
No matter what its size and power, everything begins as a result of ‘Need’, true to the words, “NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION”. Our ardent pursuits to achieve greater heights and passion for learning have worked out wonders here in GCT. Way back in 1987, when our Mechanical Engineers decided to venture into uncharted territories, seeking excellence and exposure in a global level, TechnoTryst (TT) was born. This stage has seen a lot of amazing innovations and out of box thoughts from soon-to-be Engineers, who are the pillars of our society. Renowned for its tremendous energy and enthusiasm, MEA keeps bringing young minds to a global arena through TechnoTryst. TT shows our brotherly hood and how good a team we are. TT nurtures young minds in a dynamic way through competitive programs and challenging events. In sum “As long as science and innovation prevails in our planet, there will be TechnoTryst serving as a slingshot”.
