TREFRAKETEN is a fest, for those who yearn to excel in the domain of aviation as well as for those who have a nerve to compete with others. This is an evolutionary fest to expose the extraordinary talents within the students. This event signifies the battle of minds and so is the meaning of the word, trefraketen. The events are so framed up in such a way so as to put the skills, ability, knowledge and talent of the participants through rigorous levels, to pick the best from the crowd. This is the place where one could quench the never ending thirst for quest.
There are events such as aero marathon, agua missiles  and others which puts the greatest minds in a tug of war. These events have been selected and crafted with elegance. There are exciting prizes too which complements these events.

PAPER PRESENTATION :

TEAMS:
Maximum of 2 members per team*

RULES:
• Length of abstract is limited to 300 words.
• Styling should strictly adhere to IEEE format.
• Send your abstracts with your name and institution, along with your contact number and mail- id to Trefraketen’12@gmail.com.
• Your abstracts will not be accepted if we receive it after 15th February 2012
• Authors of selected papers will be notified through email
Send in your full paper on or before 15th of February 2012 23:59Hrs
Papers are not to exceed 6 pages including references.
• All the participants are required to bring two hard copies of their paper along with them on the day of the event.
• In case any of the short listed candidates do not turn up, the wait listed candidates will be given the opportunity to present.

DISQUALIFICATION:
Plagiarism is abhorred. The paper should consist of your work thoroughly and if not proven satisfactory that you have worked on the topic, you are bound to be disqualified.

• Thermal Choking and Combustion instabilities
• Astronaut safety

Agua Missile – Water Rocketry :

•Maximum two   members per team
•Launch pad  will be provided
•Multistage rockets not allowed
•There will be two rounds
•In first round there is pressure limit 50psi, maximum distance will be measured
•Top 20 teams will be selected for second round
•In second round there is no pressure limit.
•The target is fixed at a certain distance at a particular point. The closer your missile gets to the target decides the winner.
•Judges verdict will be final

AERO MARATHON :

Round 1- Glider Contest:
•Maximum 2 members per team
•Things will be provided for the participants
•First round based on aptitude test
•Top fifteen teams will be selected for final round
•Result  will be  based on time of flight and safe landing
•Judges verdict will be final

Round 2 – Save the Egg – Parachute Modelling:
•Maximum two members per team.
•Things for designing the parachute will be provided.
•Time allowed for designing is 45 min.
•If the things provided get damaged will not be provided again.
•Result is based on the time of flight and safe landing.

CAD MODELLING :

Software provided:
•Pro – E Wildfire 4.0
•CATIA V5

Preliminary Round:
•25 Questions.
•Duration: 30 minutes

Final Round: (Short listed to 10 – 15 teams)
•To complete the given Assembly model.
•The model will be common for Pro – E and CATIA
Rules and Procedures:
•Two members per team.
•Duration: 1 hour.
•Winners will be selected on the basis of number of  steps and completion of the model.
•Judges decision will be finalized.
•The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit.
