We are happy to inform you that the Food Technology
Association, Kongu Engineering College, Erode is organizing a one day
National Level Technical Symposium, ZELOS-12, on 21st February 2012.

Kongu Engineering College, one of the foremost multi professional
research – led institutions, is internationally a recognized leader in
professional and career – oriented education. It provides an integral,
inter-disciplinary education and a unique intersection between theory
and practice, passion and reason. The college offers courses of study
that are on the frontiers of knowledge and it connects the spiritual and
practical dimensions of intellectual life, in a stimulating environment
that fosters rigorous scholarship and supportive community.
ZELOS – a technical forum, creating solidarity and trying to unscramble
the desire to attain a great feeling. ZELOS conducted by Department of
Food Technology, Kongu Engineering College is a continuation to the
trend of organizing students’ seminar. It is the hub of analyzing and
assessing the breakthroughs in various technical aspects where the
budding technologists will be exposed to an ambience of astonishing
technical background.

PAPER AND POSTER PRESENTATION
1. Only a maximum of two members per team
2. Abstract must be mailed on or before 06.02.2012 (4.00 PM)

Font Size: Title-14 pt bold;
Authors’ names,affliation,mail id and abstract – 12pt bold
4. Name as given should be maintained in all corespondance.The text of
the abstract of paper & poster should not exceed 300 words including
title; it should contain OBJECTIVES, METHODOLOGY, RESULTS AND
CONCLUSIONS. Abstracts must be composed on a computer using MS Office
Word.
5. Based on the abstract, topic will be selected for paper or poster .Intimation will be sent on 09.02.2012.
6. Presentation timings is 5 minutes (2 minutes for queries)
7. Finalists should send full paper on or before 11.02.2012.Bring 2 hard
copies of full paper and a soft copy of presentation (ppt in both
2003&2007 versions)
8. Size of the poster is A2.

2. Advances in food-biotechnology
3. Waste management
4. Food packaging & storage
5. Genetically modified foods
6. Novel Technology in extending the shelf life of foods

Multimedia/short film Presentation

4. Should be creative – own work and not a downloaded file.
